Did you know that Nordstrom’s tailoring department will alter any bra of yours into a nursing bra for just $10?

And I already loved them for their spacious nursing rooms in every store. (And great diaper changing areas too!)

Together we can normalize nursing for today’s society and future generations by promoting public breastfeeding. We will empower and support currently nursing mothers, and educate and engage non-nursers. Thank you for supporting the Great Nurse-In!

There have been too many news stories lately about women being told they can’t feed their babies in places where they are legally allowed to do so, and personal accounts from friends who have been chastised for nursing in public or haven’t even tried for fear of being told not to. The time has come for this to end.

Certainly breastfeeding doesn’t work for everyone (nursing in public or in general), but for those of us who go that route, we should be able to do so with as few barriers as possible. As if wrestling with a crying baby isn’t tough enough! Those who are able to breastfeed deserve to make this decision with all the information possible and without fear of public scrutiny as a determining factor.

We’ll gather together, breastfeeding moms and supporters united, on the U.S. Capitol’s West Lawn for the day and normalize nursing. All are welcome - nursers, non-nursers, men, women, children. Only by standing together as a collective unit of breastfeeding supporters can we enact real change and make opposition to public breastfeeding a non-issue for tomorrow’s parents.

Questions, comments, sponsorship and volunteer offers welcome! You can reach us at greatnursein@gmail.com.”
